What leads an american to live in Brazil

What leads an american to live in Brazil?
I mean...not only here but everywhere everyone thinks USA is the "best" place to live in some aspects... so I do understand what lead a person from the south hemispere to abandon his country to go living in the countries from "above" but I really do not understand the contrary....

Well I want to move to tokyo. But I mean that's not Brazil. Maybe they just want to simply because they like the place. That's why I'd like to go to Tokyo, simply because its awesome.

This is much easy to answer. If you have condition you never go out of this country I think that the only motive that leads one person go out from Brazil is the money or living without the money and we are BRIC now the things are changing here the development are coming to brazil quickly. So, I understand perfectly what leads one american like any other person all of the world to live here in Brazil we dont have war, racism , storm ,hurricane,tsunami,earthquake, religion persecution,we have beautiful places and the people friendly. Maybe for these and other things your friend wants living here :)
