What is it like to live in Brazil?

I live in São Paulo and I will never move from here. Brazil has a lot of problems like crime rates (this is in rio, são paulo is safer), poverty, social inequality and our corrupt government, but we also have good things, like nice climate, receptive people, and our amazing natural wonders. Our culture is very mixed, we have more african influenes in the northeast, while the south is totally european. In são paulo we have a more european culture, but we received a lot of influences from all parts of the country. Brazil is not too different from US. We received a lot of influences from the USA, and we love american movies! Many people think that brazil is a liberal country, but this is not true! Actually, we are more conservative than the majority of the countries.

I live in Rio de Janeiro and I love living here! Differences between the US and here? Hum! Well we are both ex-colonies! I think the way we dress here in Rio is the same as in California with the exception we don't like to use rain coats, we prefer umbrellas better! And you guys like drinking a large cup of coffee and here we just get a tiny cup but with less water... And we always kiss a person from the opposite gender on both cheeks, sometimes 2 kisses, sometimes 4 kisses it depends. You guys from the north just shake the hands heheh! And we are getting a female president this month here, the most voted woman in history! I guess Hillary Clinton is going to have to wait her turn heheh

Northeast african culture?? africans are just 7 % of the northeast!! you should go study ..-.- i'm from northeast and not african, and don't know manys.. and the south arent totallty european.. there's alot of blacks in the south!! theres most whites than blacks, it doesnt means they are all europeans.. anyways why every time anyone come here to ask how brazil is, you guys alwys talk about races and the european inluences?? no one cares about it!.. And we are not like usa.. we have somethings in commom becouse of the globalization, but it doesnt mean our cultures are simmilar Now, Nikki, i'll answers your question ..
